At Biggera Waters State School we ensure that our students are prepped and ready for the digital world, by exposing them to technology, and allowing them plenty of interaction with digital aspects of learning.
Students Prep to Six participate weekly in a half hour sessions of digital technologies. In these lessons, students learn the fundamentals of computers, and learn how to use a variety of different programs designed to give them success in future years. The lessons are designed to align with the Digital Technologies aspect from the Australian Curriculum as well as integrating learning from other key learning areas. This sets students up for success and allows them opportunities for different learning experiences.
Students learn how to make appropriate choices to ensure they understand how to use technology to enhance their ability to build new knowledge, collaborate and share new learnings. They learn how to be safe online and develop their understanding of how to be an excellent digital citizen.
